Heat to Impact Field Moisture

With fields already struggling with moisture, this week’s heat wave is doing little to help the situation. State Climatologist Harry Hillaker says the heat will impact what little moisture remains through evaporation. He says crops have been able to limp along so far, using the surplus rain received this spring, that ended up in our lakes, rivers, farm ponds and shallow aquifers.
